Bärenwald Müritz is a shelter for brown bears who have formally lived in captivity, often under cruel circumstances. It has been put up by FOUR PAWS INTERNATIONAL, an organization for the prevention of cruelty against animals. Visitors have the opportunity to walk through the enclosure and watch the bears. A number of interactive exhibition units created by Kunstraum GfK offer an insight into the bears’ lives in the wilderness and in captivity.

The Schorfheidemuseum in the former hunting lodge of Groß Schönebeck offers its visitors a special exhibition on the life of the boxing legend Max Schmeling. It comprises two very different room installations that throw light on contradicting aspects in Schmeling’s life.

"A little improvement every day": The MS Science – SPORTS AND COMPUTER SCIENCE.
This year again, the barge MS Wissenschaft is touring with an exciting interactive exhibition, this time with a fascinating combination of topics: Sports and computer science.

The Klimahaus® Bremerhaven is one of the most exciting exhibiton projects in Germany at present. It will be housed in a spectacular building along the waterfront of Bremerhaven and comprise more than 8.500 sqm of exhibition space.
Here, the visitors will learn interactively about the basics of climate processes, experience different climates and get a glimpse of future global perspectives.

Comissioned by Plan International, Kunstraum developped a travelling interactive exhibition on the situation of girls throughout the world. It is part of Plan's media campaign "Because we are girls" and gives an idea of how girls live in India, the Sahel region and the Andes.
The Exhibition opened January 15th 2006 in the Historisches Museum Hanover.

Danfoss Universe is a unique inventor's and experience park where especially children and teenagers can discover their passion for science and technology and explore their creativity and inventiveness.

The Universum® can be regarded as the first modern science center in Germany. Almost 2,5 million people have visited the Universum Science Center in its first five years of operation, making it the most successful science center in Europe in relation to its size.

Since May 2005 the barge MS Einstein has been visiting nearly 40 cities with a mobile exhibition on the life and works of Albert Einstein. On an area of 600 square metres visitors have access to 50 interactive exhibits that show the fascination and relevance of Einstein's works. Like in previous years, the exhibition aims at conveying complex scientific topics in a vivid and playful way.

In 2005 the regional multi service provider EWE is celebrating the company's 75th anniversary. Central part of the campaign is an interactive travelling exhibition featuring the company's core competencies in electricity, gas and water supplies, telecommunication and IT-services.

Within the scope of the “Year of Technology 2004" the barge MS Jenny - dubbed "MS Technik" - was sent on a four months tour through 31 German cities. The subject of the exhibition was the extension of human abilities with the help of technology with the aim to encourage public understanding of science. Thus, interactive exhibits made cutting-edge technology accessible.

Pahlhuus is the information centre of the biosphere-reserve along lake Schaalsee. For the ministery of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Kunstraum has re-designed parts of the existing exhibition and introduced new playful and interactive elements to create an up-to-date-exhibition for visitors of the reserve and nature lovers.

Situated on the premises of the renowned industrial company Drägerwerk AG, the Forum is much more than a showcase. It is an interactive exhibition that represents the company's philosophy as much as the products, combining modern ways of presentation with scenic elements and surprising new perspectives on a traditional company.

Within the scope of “The Year of Chemistry 2003” the foundation Wissenschaft im Dialog presented an interactive traveling exhibition on the barge MS Jenny covering approximately 600 sqm.
The exhibition spent three months travelling on the river Rhine during summer 2003.

On the fringe of the “50 years Baden-Württemberg” anniversary celebrations in 2002 “zoom in” was a highlight especially for pupils and teenagers. With more than 30 interactive exhibits on an area of 600 sqm its hands-on design conveyed the fascination of advanced technology, as well as offering space for creativity and innovation.

For the Safety at Work Exhibition (DASA), Dortmund, Kunstraum developed a travelling exhibition on the subject of "Seeing" that was on tour during 2000.

SinnFonie is a journey through the world of the human senses with more than 50 interactive exhibits on the boarder between science and poetry. Between 1995 and 2002 SinnFonie was shown in 10 different locations.



Over the years, Kunstraum has produced a wide range of sketches, concepts, masterplans and visions covering various themes and topics.
Below you find some interesting projects yet to be realized.


The task was to think of new ideas for the charming area of the former observatory Bergedorf near Hamburg. Our concept study presented an equally charming ensemble of exhibition, upgraded park experience and café that would bring to life the area and attract visitors and tourists alike.

„Future“ is the theme and topic that the Visionarum will present in a highly modern, flexible and unusual way.Building up on the success of the Universum®Science Center Bremen it was decided to create the Visionarum in direct neighbourhood to stipulate a centre of interactive learning and entertainment that will remain unique for many years to come.

Winner of the competition in 2002



In the context of a creative initiative for the town of Völklingen in 2001, Kunstraum developed an urban planning concept that would stipulate regional identity and growth. While the decay of the steel industry has caused an economic depression in Völklingen, the former steelworks being world cultural heritage site protected by UNESCO carries a great potential.
