Odysseum Cologne Science Center:
Our team has conceived and designed more than 100 mostly novel hands-on exhibits for the Odysseum Cologne Science Center that is to open in 2008. The SK-Foundation will shortly issue a call for tenders. The exhibits cover a wide range of subjects: from basic genetics, evolution and sex over nutrition and medicine to globalization.
»Man only plays
when in the full meaning of the word he is a man,
and he is only completely a man
when he plays.«
Friedrich Schiller
Our interdisciplinary Kunstraum team conceives, designs and inplements exhibitions, visitor centres, theme parks, science centers and travelling exhibitions.
For us, exhibition design means interaction: enabling visitors to interact playfully and actively with all aspects of the exhibition and to experience it with all senses.
An important incentive for our work is our own fascination for the manifold themes of our exhibitions, as well as our curiosity and love of play. Starting from this motivation we design interactive exhibits, media appliances, art installations and atmospheric spaces, turning the visitors into explorers who travel through the intriguing worlds of our exhibitions.
All the different elements of design – from the interior design over media productions to texts and graphics – are developed in close cooperation with our clients to meet our high standards.
Thus we succeed in waking enthusiasm for technology and science, environmental proctection, history or abstract subjects like „future“ or „safety“ and to evoke the expression of concentration, fascination and intuitive understanding on people’s faces that makes the visit of interactive exhibitions such an experience.
